Elephant Kingdom
Kick off with Tarangire’s ancient baobab groves and the life-giving Tarangire River. During the June–October dry season (and year-round), witness Tanzania’s largest elephant population—up to 3,000 individuals—bathing and dusting at close range. Spot lions in sausage trees, cheetahs on termite mounds, and over 550 bird species, including endemic ashy starlings and yellow-collared lovebirds. Full-day game drive with riverside picnic lunch; overnight at a classic tented lodge overlooking the plains.

Tree-Climbing Lions & Flamingo Shores
A short, scenic transfer brings you to the Great Rift Valley’s emerald gem. Famous for tree-climbing lions lounging in acacias, Lake Manyara offers dramatic contrasts: groundwater forest, soda lake flamingo carpets, and hot springs bubbling along fault lines. Look for large elephant troops, blue monkeys, and hippos in mahogany-shaded pools. Afternoon game drive followed by sunset at the escarpment’s edge; overnight at a luxurious lodge with crater-rim views.

The Garden of Eden
Descend 600 meters into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera for a once-in-a-lifetime 6-hour game drive. With 25,000 resident animals packed into 260 km², sightings are guaranteed: black rhinos grazing, lion prides on golden plains, hyena clans, and massive tuskers at Lerai Forest. Picnic beside hippo-filled pools while flamingos tint Lake Magadi pink. Ascend the crater rim by early afternoon and return to Arusha by 5 PM—perfect for evening flights or Zanzibar connections.

Location Overview
This compact 3-day safari explores Tanzania’s iconic Northern Circuit, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape 120–200 km (75–125 miles) west of Arusha—the safari gateway at the base of Mount Meru. Starting from Arusha (1,400 m/4,600 ft elevation), the route follows paved roads through Maasai steppe and coffee plantations, descending into rift-valley parks with dramatic contrasts: baobab-dotted savannahs, alkaline lakes, and the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera.
Tarangire National Park (2,850 km²): 140 km southwest of Arusha. Rolling hills, seasonal Tarangire River, and ancient baobab groves draw massive elephant herds (up to 3,000) during the June–October dry season.
Lake Manyara National Park (330 km²): 120 km west of Arusha. A narrow rift-valley strip between the soda waters of Lake Manyara (65% of park) and the 600 m Gregory Rift escarpment; famed for tree-climbing lions and flamingo flocks.
Ngorongoro Crater (260 km² floor): 180 km from Arusha inside the 8,300 km² Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A 600 m-deep, 19 km-wide caldera formed 2–3 million years ago; home to 25,000 large mammals year-round, including black rhinos and high-density Big Five.
